AUDIO | VISUAL | EVERYTHING

Welcome to

Hidden in South Leeds, just 5 minutes from the city center, the M1 and M621, is our beautiful Audio and Media workspace.

Built around our Allen & Heath GRS24 and our 9m by 7m live room, tuned to perfection with a selection of Vicoustic treatment, Bakerland is the perfect place to get in the zone, get inspired,  and create.

Whether you’re a solo artist or a choir, producing a music video , a photo shoot, product videos or audio books, anything in the audio and visual remit, we have created them all, and most importantly, we achieve our customers visions by sharing their passion and working every project together as one combined team.

VAN DER NEER

This talented 4 piece recorded their first single and debut album with us, tracking first in our old studio (Dr Shakamoto’s) and finishing overdubs and mixing at Bakerland. They also recorded 5 tracks off the album for a live session (see video examples). We continue to work with Simon, Stuart and David, they are regulars at Bakerland.

ATOMIC RAYGUN

One of our first bands through the door, this 4 track E.P was released on blue Vinyl only, you got a pair of 3D glasses included to view the sleeve, our copy is proudly displayed at Bakerland.

The Lost Trends

Again an early band in the studio, Pete the guitarists is a good friend of Andy’s so we recorded their second E.P Dark Disco. 4 tracks with the lead track DJ getting national coverage on Channel 4 for the York races advertisement of the Ebor. Thanks to a connection at the studio we set them off in the right direction. We managed the release of this E.P providing live sound for the band and a great after show party.

We also produced the video for DJ (filmed in our old studio in York).

The Grand Old Uke of York

This collective, at its peak, had 15 members, they have been long-standing friends of the studio and have recorded 2 albums, 2 singles an E.P and we’ve done 1 video.

A track from their first album ‘Summer Rain’ was picked up by Toyota and featured on a Toyota advert, it was released as a single. They’ve supported the likes of Katie Tunstall, Ward Thomas, The Shires, Ralph McTell, Newton Faulkner, with the help from Bakerland they continue to go from strength to strength.

The Ben Lee Band

Ben came to the studio by himself and recorded everything (except the drums). We completed this in a week and I’m very proud of the outcome. This is the first time Ben had ever sung on anything, he had a collection of songs he had written over years and he wanted to capture them all. He is the guitarist in the Jolly Code, who came and recorded on Ben’s recommendation.

The Jolly Code

Ben Lee came and recorded his album then brought his band in with him to record an E.P. We helped produce

4 tracks and the sessions were awesome. They are now regulars at the studio (and Ben’s Dad does our accounts, which is always handy).

Hybriphonic

A big band needs a big studio. This 8 piece male and female led funk band tracked lots of parts together, not a problem in such a great sounding live room. Check out the link for these tunes they sound great.

Common Ground Theatre

Kitty Briidges – A pocket full of tunes. A theatre production based around an intriguing story and wonderful music.

A wide selection of ‘vintage’ instruments played by the very talented Paul Baldwin (mandolin, banjo, bouzouki, cittern) and Moira Clarke (recorder, melodeon, concertina) meant we get in and around instruments we’ve never recorded before, this project was highly enjoyable and once again our clients were very pleased with the outcome.

Live @ Bakerland…

We like to do live audio and video @ Bakerkand, and we have the space to do it well, and believe the best recordings are those done live with passion and energy. We like to film concept music video’s as well and have projects booked in for next year. Check out our video’s to date to see some very special performances.

Product Video’s

We have provided many product videos for Audio Technica and continue to work with them. Rodrigo works at A.T (see his bio), when he’s not sorting audio for the Moto GP or the Olympics he’s making videos of products.

On Location

We offer location videos for those bands who have a specific look in mind, we find that once bands see our studio they tend to choose to come to us (without our influence). We look forward to taking our camera’s out and shooting on location, give us a shout if you have some ideas!
